Delivery schemes
To place an order a shopper must specify their delivery requirement and they do this by selecting a delivery slot before they checkout their order. Delivery slots are set up against delivery schemes and therefore you must have at least one delivery scheme for your online shop to function.
Types of delivery schemes
Scheme type | Delivery dates | Delivery area | Display in grid | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Home | Yes | Yes | Yes | The shopper sees a grid of available delivery slots to select from. Slots are typically 2 hours long. |
Milk round | Yes | Yes | No | The retailer has a fixed delivery route and the actual delivery time is dependent on when he passes by. Slots tend to be 4 hours or longer. |
Courier | Yes | Optional | No | For delivery to national customers. Slots are defined in whole days. |
Collection | Yes | No | No | Order online and collect in store. |
Simple | No | Optional | No | You deliver in your own time. |
