Defining delivery areas
Delivery areas are defined by adding partial or full postcodes in the "included postcodes" tab of the delivery scheme. They can then be further defined by adding partial and full postcodes in the "excluded postcodes" tab.
Additional information
Before you start inputting postcodes, it is worth working out the most efficient way to do this. In many cases including a big area like "PE11" and then excluding a part of that area like "PE11 4" will be better than including many smaller areas like "PE11 1", "PE11 2", "PE11 3", "PE11 5" and so on.
As a general rule exclusions will always take precedence over inclusions.
Delivery schemes are completely separate so an excluded postcode in one scheme can be an included postcode in another. Included postcodes can be in more than one delivery scheme allowing delivery areas to overlap.
Part postcodes entered into the delivery schemes are effectively case-insensitive "starts with" filters, and in some cases a trailing space is essential to correctly match outward postcode areas. For example "AB1" would match with AB1, AB10, AB11, AB12, AB13, AB14, AB15, AB16, AB17, AB18 and AB19, however "AB1 " would only match with AB1.
Delivery schemes are only visible to shoppers whose delivery address is in the delivery area.
